Topological photonics

In QMAD we are theoretically investigating new topological effects that arise in nanophotonics.

By means of nanostructuring metallic surfaces, we transform these ones into chiral or topological systems, with a wider range of possibilities. The idea is to couple these metasurfaces with 2-D materials or chiral molecules in order to enhance the chiral response of them.

We are also exploring other topological systems such as metallic nanoparticles distributed topologically along a chain, and its behavior when we introduce them inside a cavity.
