Sergio is an Assistant Professor at University of Zaragoza, Department of Applied Physics. He has a Ph.D. degree in physics from the Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain. He spent two years at The Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, USA.
His main interest is on theoretical electromagnetism in Nanophotonics. His main lines of research are related with the fundamentals of linear and non-linear effects in Nanophotonics, including low dimensional systems like 2D-materials. He is also involved in the development of artificial intelligence tools for applications in physics. He also participate in free-code initiatives sharing part of his numerical tools (https://github.com/IrisFDTD).
He has been involved in 26 research projects: 4 European and 7 national projects (one as PI).
He is co-author of 50 articles, with several contributions in high-impact international journals.
