These detectors, which operate at temperatures close to absolute zero, require a new generation of devices that are essential in areas such as astrophysics, materials science or quantum technologies. The thesis work will focus on the characterization and electrothermal modelling of X-ray detectors. The student will receive a multidisciplinary training in leading technological areas (advanced scientific instrumentation, cryogenics, nanotechnology…) [see “Investigación y Ciencia”, January 2007, p.54]. The work will be carried out in Zaragoza and/or Barcelona.
